Social Roulette – King for a Day
Witzige Idee, die die Macher von Social Roulette da hatten:
“Social Roulette has a 1 in 6 chance of deleting your account, and a 5 in 6 chance that it just posts “I played Social Roulette and survived” to your timeline.”
Die Idee entstand aus dem Bedürfnis heraus, das jeder Facebook User mindestens einmal im Leben hat: dem Gefühl, er müsse sein facebook Profil löschen.
Nur wenn man so kurz davor steht, es zu tun – traut man es sich doch nicht.
Social Roulette beschreibt das so: “Everyone thinks about deleting their account at some point, it’s a completely normal reaction to the overwhelming nature of digital culture. Is it time to consider a new development in your life? Are you looking for the opportunity to start fresh? Or are you just seeking cheap thrills at the expense of your social network? Maybe it’s time for you to play Social Roulette.”
Natürlich wurde die App noch am gleichen Tag von facebook gestoppt. Hauptgrund: die App verbreitet eine “Negative User-Experience”. Ja ne, is klar…

Mythos ‘Intuitives’ Interface
… don’t feel like every single action you design right now, in this Wild West time of interaction design, has to be completely intuitive. There are things we think are intuitive now that we learned using tutorials decades ago. Andrei Herasimchuk pulled up a great old Apple tutorial on how to use a mouse. Do you remember those? Probably not, even if you’re above a certain age, and your kids or siblings (or maybe even you) have likely never seen them. They learned how to use a mouse by watching people instead. People don’t come out of the womb knowing how to use a mouse—they do learn it, at some point—but once the information is out there they can learn so seamlessly it doesn’t matter.
